A Great Place to Live, Shop, Work & Play
Elmwood Park is a great place to live, shop, work, and play. You'll find events and activities for people of all ages. This is a vibrant community with good schools, an excellent library, parks and recreation programs, and some great eateries. The Village of Elmwood Park contains what was in 1926 the largest home development ever undertaken by a real estate firm - The John Mills subdivision in the northwest section of the village. The plan was inspired by the building project called Westwood which Mills saw while in is winter home in Beverly Hills, CA. The mostly Bungalow development was laid out in a spoke wheel pattern around Conti Circle. The southern part of the Village has a mixture of mostly English, Bungalow, and Georgian style homes. Transportation options include the Metra train and Pace Bus service.
Population in 2015: 24,840
